Ah, Peter was basically passing the buck on SVG support. :)

The current version of Mnemosyne uses Qt 3, which it sounds like does not
support displaying SVGs in that fashion.

Mnemosyne 2.0, which is in development and not quite ready for normal use,
uses Qt 4. Qt 4 might support embedding SVGs in cards.

In the meantime, just make a PNG copy of all of your SVGs, and point
Mnemosyne to that. You can do this from a shell script using the rsvg
utility. If you're not familiar with shell scripting (heretic!), just give
me a ring and I could guide you through it.
