BTW, the first cards that come up during the (normal) review are those that are 
most urgent, i.e. those with the shortest scheduled intervals, which would 
have most harm from learning ahead of schedule.

Ideally, for learning ahead those with the longest interval should be shown 
first, but it's rather low on my priority list at the moment.
