I think the "2" option is meant for when you think you know the card and will remember it for a couple of days or so. So even if you know the card know having just seen it, if you think you will forget it in a couple of minutes then 1 or 0 is the right grade. (I think).
Having said that I don't think it matters that much, I'm fairly free with my grading at that initial stage. If for whatever reason I'm not in the mood for repeating the card I'll often give it a 2 and if I don't remember a few days later, so what, a couple more repetitions and I'll remember it then. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "mnemosyne-proj-users" group.
