I have previously (http://groups.google.com/group/mnemosyne-proj-users/ t/cf82fc683c1a647f) requested advise for optimal installation of Mnemosyne on Dropbox. That may not be the root-cause of my probelms.
1. On two PC's I am fine; the .mnemosyne is automatically established under C:\Documents and Settings\Henrik. (Why? I would prefer to also have .mnemosyne under MyDropbx, i think). No problems. Excellent response-times 2. The main problemarises on my quickest and most powerful PC (let me call it Job-PC). It is sometimes connected to a company network. When i connect Job-PC to shared Dropbox Mnemosyne-folder, Job-PC automatically establishes .mnemosyne under C:\Documents and Settings \User-id AND under H:\.mnemosyne. It works. But: a) Sometimes at start-up Mnemosyne does not find my learning DB. I use "Open" to find it, and it works. b) Settings (e.g font-size) are lost c) It is always snail-slow, 5 seconds to "Show answer" or find next card d) Job-PC gets confused. At synchronisation (of My Documents I guess) it wonders whether to keep PC-version or Network version of several Mnemosyne-files 3. Any ideas of how to optimise Job-PC? Memory-stick perhaps (would prefer not)? PS. Mnemoysyne looks as if it can take over from my use of Supermemo 7 (ver 1995!). I still need to decide solution for migration though.
