This is my vote in favor of the new default grade of 2 for new/failed cards, while 4 remains the default for scheduled cards. I rarely feel I know a new/failed card well enough to immediately grade it 4, so I have been giving them a manual grade of 2 anyway. The new grading scheme follows that pattern, so it is a nice improvement for me.
