I tried the database you sent me, both on Linux and XP. Did about 50 
reviews each time, without any problems whatsoever.

Not sure if this qualifies as good news or as bad news, but in any case it 
seems difficult for me to do anything about an issue I cannot reproduce :-(

Some general things you could try:

* uninstall Mnemosyne completely and then reinstall
* delete the 'config' file (or at least move it to another location.). You 
will lose your configuration options, though.
