I get this too occasionally ... running Linux (64 bit) on a netbook.
First time it happened I thought I had a faulty card and deleted it!

annoying to me too...
Hopefully, these issues get magically fixed when a new version of
Qt comes out,
because the displaying of images is not something Mnemosyne
handles itself...
