I could reproduce your steps. It is working correctly for two-sided cards! For my Spanish database I use a vocabulary-clone, putting the question in the first, the soundfile into the second field and the answer into the third. Sometimes I put a remark in the last field. You should be able to reproduce the described behavior using a the vocabulary card type.
