I have no idea, it's not up to me to fix this, but up to the Qt developers, and I have zero control over that... At least I was able to provide an alternative sound system so that at least people have sound under Windows :-)
I really wanted to migrate from SuperMemo to Mnemosyne but it is not worth it if I have to wait for every sound to play till the end before moving on to the next question.
You can move to the next card before the sound has finished playing. It's just that it will keep on playing while you are already looking at the next card.
