I had no trouble installing Mnemosyne 2.0.1 - test 2:  it runs and behaves 
itself.  It was the normal, childishly simple Mac Installation.  Thank you for 
the effort.

I'm not using JPG / GIFs yet;  but plan to use 4  to 10 second mov clips or any 
video format that can be linked.  That can wait till New Year, though I 
wouldn't complain if it worked sooner.  I'm at the stage of acclimating to 
Chinese by watching 8 minute movies; 15 of them.
