There are three locations involved in this....

Yesterday, I had these problems at my "alternate office", which I will be 
back at next weekend and can try what you said about a new empty test 
database.  

Just now, I ran Mnemosyne with no problem at my home.  At my home, I run it 
entirely from the USB drive and I don't have it even installed on the hard 
drive.

Tomorrow, I can try it at my regular office.  I suspect that will be fine 
too.
