This is certainly possible for cards you've seen a few times.  Note that in 
this case a higher grade would have resulted in an ever higher interval. 
Important to realise is that SM2 never decreases the interval. This is what 
keeps your work load in check. 

If you don't like SM2, the architecture of libmnemosyne is such that a plugin 
can completely rip out the scheduler and replace it with a fully customised 
version.
