Hi, this is not currently supported in mnemosyne. An idea for this has been 
posted on uservoice 
(http://mnemosyne.uservoice.com/forums/164265-general/suggestions/2901341-option-to-type-answer-15-work-units-),
 
witch you can vote on it to get it implemented in future versions.

However, mnemosyne does support javascript in the cards, so it's possible 
manually place a textfield in the cards if you want to. But there is no 
interaction between the front card and the back card.
Personally I use notepad for typing in the answer before showing the card.
