Fantastic. Problem sorted. I re linked all the media files and then found that the file referred to in the error message, which I unhid, for some reason had been renamed with two full stops (periods) after it? I deleted these and bingo it worked. Many thanks for your help and your excellent product.
Kind regards Adrian From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Peter Bienstman Sent: 22 July 2013 04:43 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [mnemosyne-proj-users] Problem with Sync Before attempting sync, you should make sure you fix the media file issue. Open the card browser, and look for files with the 'missing media' tag. If such a card has src="foo.png" it expects to find foo.png in the directory default.db_media inside your mnemosyne data directory. This is a hidden directory, typically c:users\colledge\application data\roaming\mnemosyne After you fixed the problem, change src_missing to src. Make sure the media displays, and do the same for the other cards. Good luck! Peter [email protected] wrote: I have an old PC and have bought an iMac. I want to sync in order to transfer mnemosyne to the iMac. I was running ver 1.2.2 on the PC so have upgraded to the latest version to get the sync functionality. When I upgraded it said some of the media files were missing. I have 3,500 cards with 121 missing media files. The sync started ok and my PC said it was transferring media files but then stopped and said it had failed with the following message: Traceback (innermost last): File "opensm2sync\server.pyo", line 597, in get_server_media_file File "genericpath.pyo", line 49, in getsize WindowsError: [Error2] The system cannot find the file specified: u"C:\\Documents and Settings\\ dan's acuount\\application data\\mnemosyne\\default.db_media\\die meersh.wav" I'd be most grateful if someone could tell me how to fix this. PS: before upgrading I copied the programme and user files to a backup drive. I did the prog ramme first then the user data. When I did the user data I tried to copy a directorty called ".mnemosyne" It would not let me as a directory with this name already existed on my backup so I renamed the directory "User.mnemosyne" and then did the backup. I then did the upgrade and after realised I had not changed the directory name back. When I tried to change the directory name back it would not let me, I got the windows rename message "you must type a file name". I don't know if this is related to the problem I have and why there are missing media files. If so what should I do?
