HI,

I assume you used 'save as' as opposed to just copying the database with your 
file manager? With 'save as', the default database location will have been 
saved to your external drive, and if you remove that drive, you will run into 
problems.

Just abort the program and start again. In the 2.3 prerelease, you should get a 
dialog box allowing you to choose a working database: go back to the one on 
your fixed drive.

If have 2.2, you need to delete ~/Library/Mnemosyne/config and start again.
