After running this command Mnemosyne ran fine, the same as the Windows/Mac 
versions. Much appreciated!

~]$ sudo yum install python-matplotlib*

At some point I will put together the commands needed to install the 
dependencies for Mnemosyne from the CentOS repositories, rather than 
downloading the packages individually and installing manually. If I ever do 
that I will post here. (The install process for CentOS *should* be the same as 
for RedHat distros, as CentOS is a fork that removes RedHat enterprise 
trademark stuff and doesn't generally change a whole lot else.)
