Hi, It's best to try this first within the same network, e.g. both machines inside your home network.
Also make sure the server is running the latest Mnemosyne version, and that under 'configure mnemosyne' - 'servers', it says 'sync server running on ....'. Also, double check ip addresses and passwords, and try without password. Do you get any activity on the desktop client while syncing?
