Hi,

1. It is possible (but not recommended) to use separate decks. The 
recommended way is to use tags and subsets instead. You can read more about 
this here:

2. Yes, you can change the card type from "Front-to-back only" to 
"Front-to-back and back-to-front" as described here:
http://mnemosyne-proj.org/help/card-types
