Hi,

As I said, I’m not sure you can use dropbox to sync with Android, as the path
Android uses is hardcoded to /sdcard/Mnemosyne.

However, I’ve heard of Android dropbox utilities which let you sync a folder on
the sdcard, and if these work, it should be fine. I have no experience with
this however.

Dropbox will sync your repetition data. The Mnemosyne sync mechanism is not
limited to 2 devices.

The Mnemosyne sync mechanisms requires that you e.g. have a copy of Mnemosyne
running on your desktop, and then you press ‘sync’ on your phone to update your
data.

I do have full easier dropbox integration on my development roadmap, but not in
the immediate future.

Cheers,

Peter

Thanks Peter.

I will probably just be adding cards on one computer but hope to review them on
the computer, tablet, and android phone. That will work. right? In other words
the limit of two computers is just for adding cards?

Also what did you mean by "This is probably not a very big deal, however." in
your previous email. Does Dropbox not sync the repetition data along with the
cards.

Sorry if I am going over old ground. With Dropbox when you open up any of your
computers it sychs to that computer. With the Mnemosyne synch it looks like you
have to have your server up and the computer you want to use for reviewing on
the train so it synchs before you go?

Thanks again,

Gerry

Hello:
Wondering about this in the documentation:
"alternatives like Dropbox work (in combination with starting Mnemosyne with
the -d <datadir> option to set a custom datadir), but will be less efficient"

Can someone please explain why it is less efficient? Would Dropbox support
synching among multiple computers and an Android phone.

Thanks,

Gerry
