Hello Peter,
0.: when I delete the folder /sdcard/Mnemosyne completely (not only the
content) on my phone and install Mnemosyne on my phone afterwards (both 2.3.6
on PC and Android), then Mnemosyne on the phone will try to compress the log
files ("About to archive old logs to improve running speed. Depending on..."),
I clicked "Ok, proceed". This a weird behavior, since I have deleted the folder
/sdcard/Mnemosyne! When Mnemosyne has finished the archiving process, then it
opens the phone's server configuration menu. I enter all the server info needed
and click "ok". After this Mnemosyne (on the phone) throughs the error "Sync
failed, restoring from backup. The next sync will need to be a full sync." At
this time the PC version of Mnemosyne is stuck on "Sending media files...".
When I try to sync again (to start the full sync), the PC version of Mnemosyne
throughs the error "Sync failed, restoring from backup. The next sync will need
to be a full sync.", while Mnemosyne on the phone shows "Logging in..." and
after a some seconds "Could not connect to server!".
1.: Yes, pressing the back button solved the problem on the last working
installation, that's true.
2.: Yes, and I have tried it again (see above).
3.: I thought so too.
4.1:I have tried the 2.4 Android version with the 2.3.6 PC version: default.db
gets created (size: 120.0 KB)
4.2: The same for 2.4 on both devices. The folder /sdcard/Mnemosyne is not
there right after install, but after I started Mnemosyne the first time (right
after initialization) the folder and the defaul.db file have been created. I
don't get the error message "About to archive..." with this setup!
The numbers 1. to 4. correspond to the numbers below.
Greetings,
Abakus

1. If that's the only problem, then exiting Mnemosyne by pressing the back key
on your phone (not home) and restarting Mnemosyne should solve the problem.
>Reverting to the old Mnemosyne version (2.3.6) did not work. I get the
>attached errors now. Mnemosyne on the PC displays the message "Sending >media
>files", but it doesn't send anything.
2. Just to be sure: this was with 2.3.6 both on your desktop as well as the
android apk corresponding to 2.3.6 that you can download from sourceforge?
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mnemosyne-proj/files/mnemosyne/mnemosyne-2.3.6/
Also, best to start from an empty /sdcard/Mnemosyne
>When I opened the cards browser with the freshly reinstalled old Mnemosyne on
>my PC for the first time, I got the error message "XX" (see >attachment) once.
3. I would not worry about this, could be a temporary side effect of
downgrading.

>> directory, but not a default.db?

>Both files have been in the folder /sdcard/Mnemosyne and they are still there
>with the 2.3.6 Mnemosyne for Android.
4. I meant using 2.4 and deleting /sdcard/Mnemosyne, does default.db get
created?
Cheers,
Peter
