Could it be that your phone went to sleep during this large sync? I’ll disable sleeping while syncing in the future.

However the default_db folder in windows was over 800 MB+ and the syncing mechanism seemed to copy all of the files in db_media. So I moved about 550 MB of files not used by the mnemosyne database out of the media directory on the PC.
