Hi,

Just wondering, did you already manage to try the new version, as well my
suggestions on how to load your old database?

Cheers,

Peter

Hi,

Can you try this version?

https://www.dropbox.com/s/f6ooibp50ok9qpk/Mnemosyne-2.6-pre.exe?dl=0

That should fix the browser error.

With respect to cards you lost, first of all, uninstalling Mnemosyne will leave
your own database intact, so provided you have not deleted it manually,
reinstalling a new version should pick up your current cards automatically.

Otherwise, if you have a backup which contains (e.g.) default.db (provided
that's the name you used for your database), you can just copy it over to
Mnemosyne's data directory, and then 'File - Open' should pick it up.

Let me know if you need more information.

Cheers,

Peter

Subject: [mnemosyne-proj-users] Card Browser not functioning at all

Hello,
I use mnemosyne as a way to study for my Arabic class, and I am having trouble
when opening to the card browser. As soon as I open it, I receive a message
that says:

An unexpected error has occurred.
Please forward the following info to the developers:
Traceback (innermost last):
File "mnemosyne\pyqt\browse_cards_dlg.py", line 247, in paint File
"mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\card.py", line 92, in question File
"mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\card_type.py", line 71, in render_question File
"mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\render_chain.py" line 141, in render_question File
"mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\render_chain.py" Line 165, in _render File
"mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\filters\RTL_handler.py", line 49, in run

There is an option to X out this alert, or to press "ok." Whichever option is
pressed, the alert pops right back up immediately, and the window is set up in
such a way that the program itself is no longer usable. The only way to use
Mnemosyne at all again is to close it out with my task manager, but of course
the pop up reappears whenever I try to open the card browser. This became an
issue soon after a similar error made Mnemosyne COMPLETELY unusable, resulting
in me uninstalling and deleting all of Mnemosyne's data from my computer and
reinstalling resulting in ALL my flashcards (over a hundred) being lost - and
this happens even though I followed the proper backup instructions from the
site. Please, if anyone can tell me of a potential solution that'd be greatly
appreciated. I have grown quite fond of Mnemosyne and it has become an
essential part of my daily routine and it is a fantastic supplemental tool to
my Arabic classes. Without access to the Card Browser, it becomes very
difficult to organize the cards and study properly. If there is no apparent
solution for this problem, can someone here perhaps direct me to another
program that would function similarly? Thanks.
