Sure, you can do this, but you also need to make sure your server has a
publicly facing ip address. A 127.x.x.x adress e.g. is only for inside your
home network.

Cheers,

Peter

Subject: [mnemosyne-proj-users] Syncing away from home network

Syncing is working great while on my home network. I currently have a small
computer acting as the server which correctly syncs with my desktop and mobile
device. However, I would like me mobile device to sync while I am not near my
home (e.g. at work). I have set-up port forwarding and ensured the firewall is
not an issue, but my phone can still never find the server. Is what I am trying
too do even possible?

Thanks!
