Hmm, this is really strange. I guess you've double checked the username and password? You can try with a really simple username and password (like 'a' and 'a').
If that doesn't work, what I suggest you do is move your original data directory (https://mnemosyne-proj.org/help/backups.php) to a safe place, delete it both on your phone and on the desktop, so that you can start from a completely blank slate. Then, start a new database with a dummy card and try to sync it.
