I have several learning projects in Mnemosyne ver 2.6.1 on Macbook air OS 12.4. Mnemosyne has been very stable for more than three years. I have avoided upgrading since versjon 2.6.1 does all I need. I do not synch to Android or the systems. My main learning project now is French language where I had approx ~ 41 500 cards this morning. I have over the years systematically analysed the cards with with the lowest Easiness and grades in order to modify them or add supplementary cards (typically Cloze deletion) to build a broader competence base or consolidate the difficult topics. As a tool to this end I have used Mnemosyne «Browse card» functionality, added tags and modified or added new cards where needed. Today I decided to tidy up the tags, since over the years I have created far too many. I again used Mnemosyne «Browse card» functionality, deleted and renamed tags. Sometimes when I do this it may happen that cards remain without a tag, but they are easily picked up from «untagged» After my housekeeping I saw that the number of items had dropped to ~38 00, and I am unable to find the missing 3 000 cards. I tried to save base with new name, and go back to what I opened this morning base is still only ~38 000. Any ideas what I have don wrong or how I can get back the missing cards?
