It was postponed because of other more urgent tasks for our customers/community, but if you have time to contribute it or help out I would gladly welcome any contributions and try to help as much as I can. The preliminary idea was to embed an existing XMPP library or existing server into MSS and plug it similarly to the way SIP is plugged and maybe design a higher layer like SIP Servlets ie XMPP Servlets and get in touch with the voxeo guys to come up with a portable way of writing XMPP apps between our containers.
