Because deletions are events just like changes. And because a client pulling 
from the db needs to end up in a state where it knows the current state of the 
world, e.g. there used to be a doc ‘foo’ but it was deleted. Otherwise it might 
pull an earlier revision of ‘foo’ from a different server (that hasn’t heard 
about the deletion yet) and think that ‘foo’ still exists.
