Hi all,
I just landed a change on fig to consolidate the naming of URL bar
things in our code [1].
Currently on mozilla-central, we use the terms
AwesomeBar/AddressBar/UrlBar somewhat randomly, but we're taking
advantage of the about:home rewrite to clean things up. In informal
discussion we decided that "URL bar" is the best term for variables,
since "awesome bar" and "address bar" are more appropriate as
user-facing terms.
So, in the future, use "URL bar" in your code.
I also filed a separate bug [2] to kill off AwesomeBar/AwesomeBarTabs,
since they're not used in our new BrowserToolbar/HomePager
architecture. Once those classes and their related files go away, we
shouldn't have any reference to anything "Awesome" in our code.
Best,
Margaret
