Ideally, we'd be merging in the week of August 19-23. The week after the proposed test day. > What is the hold-back in landing to mozilla-central or the reasoning you > would prefer people testing on a project branch before-hand? I should probably have been more clear about the context of this proposal. fig is a major rewrite of large parts of our UI. This means that backing out is not an option (or at least a very painful option that we *really* want to avoid). With that said, we have to be fairly confident that fig is in good enough shape before landing it to m-c. The goal I had in mind for this test day was simply to increase our confidence on the new code before merging. > We have some concerns expecting users to install project-branch builds and > would rather use our Nightly audience to engage on their builds. Thoughts? After some discussion on IRC, it seems like a better way to approach this is: - Do an informal test day within our team on August 16 (Friday, next week). We can discuss (and possibly decide) on the readiness of fig in the front-end meeting (at 9h30, Pacific Time). - If we actually merge between August 19 and 23, do a proper test day in the following week. Maybe August 30? That's about 2 weeks before the next merge day (September 16). Thoughts? --lucasr _______________________________________________ mobile-firefox-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/mobile-firefox-dev
