I wanted to let you know that as part of the work we are trying to do on
improving the Robocop UI testing API (bug 910791
<https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=910791>) we are close to
having a final version of the patch for Bug 907734
<https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=907734> -/Robocop: Split
database interactions and strings definitions in separate classes to
structure Robocop apis better/. I have defined 2 new classes:
DataBaseHelper which will have all methods that interact with the local
Firefox Database and StringsHelper which we hope will make the tests
more independent from string changes.
After the patch lands , when creating/updating Robocop tests, please try
and use the StringHelper class to define the labels/links/page
titles/menu items you are using. At the moment this class contains the
links and page titles for the local pages used in Robocop tests, the
Settings Menu strings and the Custom Menu strings and will be updated as
tests are being created/updated with all new strings we find.
