I landed a fix for Bug 1117357 on Friday (but it hasn't hit central quite
yet) so we should be back in business on Mac OS X shortly. Many thanks to
mfinkle for filing and to contributor Stephen Barker for jumping on the
investigation. I'm confident Stephen would have addressed this if I hadn't
gotten to it first.

For the record, Mac OS X ships curl by default and the bootstrap command
will install homebrew for you, so some of mfinkle's steps can be removed.
In light of Greg Szorc's marvelous blog post [1] describing steps
(barriers, really) to contribution, it's worth highlighting when we have
already removed one.

Yours,
Nick
