Hi Fennec peeps,
Bug 1178760 was reported by :Sebastian which revealed that the dynamic
UA override updates are not working the way we thought.
So, um, sorry for breaking youtube.com with the Android version UA
changes /o\.
Having a working dynamic override mechanism in Fennec is really
important for web compat, so I propose the following:
1) Figure out why it broke (possibly just at the server level). 1178760
will track that.
2) Fix 1172015, which will build prefs from the in-apk ua-update.json
file. That way if the server breaks in the future, we still have *some*
overrides in place.
3) Write tests for that.
4) Figure out 1078267, which resulted in test_user_agent_updates.html
being disabled, and ideally re-enable those tests.
Thoughts?
