As these 3 tests show VisualEditor is indeed broken on beta labs. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60912 captures this issue.
Rob, James - what could have caused this. I just updated VisualEditor and Parsoid to latest master and I get the same issue locally now.
