I guess the discoverability problem is something that will get
addressed at some point by onboarding guiders or the like, but I'll
bring up again an idea that I think would be facilitate accidental
discovery and improve the general usability of the swipe actions:
increase the area of the swipeable region, so that swipes that start a
small distance from the edge will also activate the drawers.
