(Location services are used only by this feature) Unfortunately, "Android has no mechanism for granting permissions dynamically (at run-time) because it complicates the user experience to the detriment of security." [1] Perhaps the app team has insights into whether that's likely to change but as-is the best we can do is tell the user what the permission is used for, AFAICT.
