A lot of elderly people get a phone for safety reasons, and some of them get a
phone pushed onto them by children and grandchildren.

Subject: [mobile-society] What about the grand parents?

At the other end of the scale, has anyone come across research on the
use of mobiles by seniors and more importantly text messaging? My
impression is that this sort of use is virtually non-existent in
North America, but might be emerging in Europe as some older "early
adopters" from the 1980s start to enter their 60s. Is anyone working
on this? Any basic stats/demographics that include older users, even?
