Hi all,

I am currently doing research on the use of mobile phones in a local
(place-based) community group in the west of Ireland. I have found
that the group administrators use broadcast SMS messages to
communicate with all members. They do this either through the
'Distribution List' option found on the operating systems of some
mobile phones, or through a free web 'text to group' option offered by
the service providers.

Can anyone tell me what phones carry the distribution list option? I
have only found it on some Nokia handsets. Also the provision of
(free) group texts through service providers web sites - is this
available in other countries or just an Irish thing? I have read some
papers where the researchers had to write their own software to enable
group texting.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
