At the end of the recent mLearn conference in Melbourne, the inaugural meeting was held of the International Association for Mobile Learning and the LSRI's Professor Mike Sharples was elected as its founding President. This is a recognition of Nottingham's world-leading reputation for research on mobile learning.
Mike intends to use the presidency of the Association to try and bring some coherence to the rapidly growing field of mobile learning (now with 6 international conferences) and also to promote mLearn 2008 - to be held at Ironbridge Gorge, UK - as the pre-eminent world conference.
