Nokia’s Calling All Innovators contest, which made such a splash in 2008, is a global developer competition that challenges developers to create applications and services that will enhance the use of mobile devices in real-world scenarios. The competition is open in the following three categories:
1. Internet Innovation – For web based applications created for Nokia devices 2. Flash – applications that expand the capabilities and user benefits of Flash Lite on Nokia S60 devices. 3. Emerging Markets and Mobile Necessities – For innovative applications across mobile technology platforms. The total cash and prizes for the 2009 Calling All Innovators contest are worth more than $250,000 and includes "Spotlight" placement featuring the winning application on Nokia's newly announced Ovi Store. The Grand Prize winner in each category will also receive paid travel to demo the winning application at a Nokia-specified event in the Fall 2009.
