Dear all,

I've been reading queries about Android one Phones so thought to put my views: First, let me tell you that Android One is not a platform but a concept of Google to provide Pure Android experience as said by Aruni sir on affordable phones. Under this concept, Google is controlling not only the software design, but also the hardware specification to be used for these phones. The manufacturers are bound to follow certain code of conduct while making phone under AndroidOne program and thus it can be said that one gets Pure Android experience and a quality hardware which is required to run that OS. Currently, the latest Android OS is Kitkat 4.4.4 and Android one phone also run the same OS so tagging these phones with different OS won't be correct. I've just purchased Micromax Canvis A1 Android One phone and would rate it completely satisfactory given its price tag. The Interface is nice and apps run pretty smooth. The Battery consumtion is also very low and 1700MA Battery is just enough to provide you complete day backup with moderate to heavy usage. The 1.3 GHG MediaTech processor clubbed with 1GB of RAM is fast enough to handle your apps and multitasking needs and phone doesn't lag with Talkback on. the Reer 5MP camera is pretty good for clicking photos but I do not think it would withstand for our OCR needs. If one planns to purchase one of the three phones, I'd recommend Micromax because of its design as compared to its other two competetors from Spice and Carbon. Though Android One phones roomered to have complete accessibility, I've come across a few apps such as Messages where few of the buttons are unlabled but you can surely lable them after getting to know what those buttons do. I am yet to test its performance on web browsing and will let the list know if I come across anything weird. Secondly, Micromax clames to provide 4GB of internal storage but I don't yet know how to access that as plugging to computer only gives access to SD card and with file explorers like ES File Explorer, File Manager, and Estro File manager too, I am not able to enter in to the phone storage.

Lastly, I would request the list to suggest some resource where I can read some of the Talkback commands with KitKat. If someone has already compiled something, would apreciate if you could please post it on the list or to my email directly.
With best regards,
Satguru
