May be, you might like to backup your contact online with Google from
another device that you might be using. If Google isn't safe, then nothing
is safe. Once synchronised with Google, same can be downloaded to another
device by loging with your Gmail credentials.
At any cost, half of our life is known to Google via various activities we
perform on our devices.

Dear friends
I have a Tab running4.4.2 android.
It has no provision for SIM.
When I installed whats app, it asked for my mobile number and got activated.
When I receive new messages, only phone numbers are appearing and not
the names.
When I intend saving the numbers to contact, it says something like
your phone cannot back up contacts. So save contacts online.
Then it asks for gmail ID and a password.
I would like to know if there is any other way to have all my phone
contacts in the Tab as well connected to Whats app.
If I save contacts online, will it be safe?
Do I need to save each and every contact in the same manner online?
