Hi there,
This is my first post to Mobile Access India so Hello everyone :-) My name is Thibault and I am the co-founder of Claria, a French start-up designing solutions to improve Android smartphones accessibility to visually impaired users. We recently launched Claria Zoom, a new android app for people with low vision and we would be most grateful if you could find the time to try it, tell us what you think of the app and how we could improve it as well. The main idea is to provide an alternative to the magnification gestures of Android with a new way of displaying texts through large characters, contrasted color themes and easy speech activation on any screen as well as enlarged and contrasted keyboards. The current version is available for free on the Google Play Store, compatible with any Android smartphone (v4.2 and above): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.telorion.main It provides more than 20 redesigned functionalities (Phone, text messages, GPS, electronic magnifier...). In the very near future, we will also release an accessibility service making it very easy to use any app with our specific interface (large characters, big keyboards). The app is free to download and you then have 30 days of free-trial to access all the different functionalities. At the end of the trial period, we are currently trying a new business model with a monthly plan. For example in India, it would cost 100 rupees per month. We believe it is a more accessible and virtuous model than a one-time expensive fee but maybe we are wrong. Do you think it could work in India or do you think it is a bad idea? :-) Please kindly be aware that this application is aimed at partially sighted users mainly, as it is not fully compatible with Talkback yet to be used by blind users (in fact, we have another product which we developed especially for the blind). Also, you need to know that the application is available in 11 languages at this time (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Danish), but we aim at extending the languages panel in the future. There are a few more things we would love to talk to you about, especially regarding the latest improvements, so we are very much looking forward to hearing from you. Many thanks for your help!
