I have used webdav, so don't really know the answer, but: how did you put the public/private keypair into mobileorg? when reding the source code to mobileorg :-), did you find code to prompt for the passphrase vs assuming an unprotected key? what shows up in /var/log/authlog on your computer when this happens? Do you see ssh packets arriving with tcpdump? does the directory already exist? Sometimes code gives an error message when a larger sequence of operations does not work.
