We're looking to support an updated version of
http://www.w3.org/TR/2005/NOTE-access-control-20050613/ in future
versions of Firefox, possibly even this summer's Firefox 2, to allow
web services (small w and s) to accept cross-domain calls.  (I don't
think server-wide controls are the right model, given various hosted
and hosting services that exist today, but that's a longer discussion
that's well out of scope for this list.)
