I'm almost positive this is Konqueror's fault, since it doesn't happen
in newer versions.

Still, Konq 3.4.3 is the current default for any massively deployed KDE
distro as far as I know.  If Konq adds the character before the data is
actually sent, and while MochiKit still has control over it, it might
be a good idea to add a check.  Ian Bicking just clued me in on the
binary data (e.g., an image) possibility, which I hadn't considered, so
maybe the best possibility is to just warn people to check for this on
the server until Konq 3.4.3 goes away...
