Thanks for doing those tests, Beau. As I mentioned in the ticket, you're quite right; it's only when I run the tests at the Firebug console that Queue comes out faster. I won't pretend to understand why.
I still think it's useful enough to keep around. Here's a different test- prepopulate an Array and a Queue with N elements, /then/ do M successive puts and gets (or pushes and shifts) and see how long that takes. Here is what N has to be before Queue starts being faster in my new test: Opera on Windows: 40 IE 6 on Windows: 20 FF on Windows: 80 FF on Linux: 45 Konqueror on Linux (usually approximates Safari pretty well): 240 Those aren't terribly big numbers.
