For a college project we were asked to make a text editor. I sugested
that I would do it in javascript using mochikit and my professor
accepted.
The only other text editor that I could find searching on google was
helene and it didn't seem very good.
The first use case would be for editing things like wikis and reST doc,
and for making the final paper about it (if I can make the paper and
print it using my editor I secure an A on the class). I don't want any
help with code, just ideas and what you feel about it. I will use
mochikit for it, but also i'm looking at that dojo demo that saves
files on your hd (think that they talk so much about the back button
but their own demos cant be bookmarked), so maybe i will use that part
of dojo.

Do you think this is doable? Am I crazy for making that suggestion?

ps: When I say text editor I really mean it, so fckeditor tinymce and
all the word processors in javascript don't count.

ps2: Any idea about how I should name it? (ECMACS, jsEdit, NTA (No
TextArea))

Your input is welcome,
Leonardo Santagada
