If you're new, the last thing you need to be looking at is the
AdapterRegistry. The meaning of check and wrap are arbitrary, it
depends on the specific AdapterRegistry instance. registerRepr,
registerComparator, registerJSON are the only AdapterRegistry-related
functions that you might eventually need to use, but I doubt you'd be
using those in your first application.
