Ah. I guess i'm old school, but have little confidence in browser's ability to manage data, nor in my patience to test all browser permutations (particularly since I don't have windows and I'd rather iron tuxedo pants than try to debug with MSIE).
I'm addicted to this Smarty .tpl's where I fetch the template (rendering XHTML ready to go), and then blast it out to the browser. Should break less, fewer support tickets, etc. Also reuses a lot of server-side display logic. I'll try to love this JSON/DOM thing one day, but last time I tried, some versions of FireFox completely died while others showed nothing.
