Ezra, that's the point. In this implementation the Dan examples does not work and so we try to use some workaroud.
I normally use the eventhandler to a specific task ( invoking or inclusding ) so to be teh most flexible than is possible but as you explained better than me if I am also able to cache a view but not the message that create the data the view needs ... then cacching the view does not need for nothing... I will work on a patch for that too.
